Auckland's Best Products and Treatments for Boosting Collagen Production

Collagen. The buzzword in the beauty industry. But is it worth the hype? Yes, we think it is. Collagen is an important part of connective tissues in the body. Without it, our skin loses elasticity (hello wrinkles!), wounds heal more slowly, and tendons and ligaments are stiffer.

Aside from taking a holistic approach to boosting collagen production, there are some incredible products and treatments available to assist our bodies in producing more collagen.

1. What to look for when purchasing a collagen supporting product

Serums and eye creams are going to be your best friends when it comes to assisting your collagen production. Look for products that have one of these three active ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin C and glycolic acid. All three have shown in research to promote your natural production of collagen.

Retinol is to be used only in the evening (once the sun has gone down) as it makes your skin highly sun sensitive. Retinol accelerates your skin’s natural turnover cycle, revealing more healthy, fully functioning skin cells.

Vitamin C is a building block for collagen. It helps stabilise your existing collagen to slow down your skin’s ageing process. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C protects the collagen in your skin against UV damage.

Just a note, you should not use Retinol and Vitamin C at the same time as it can cause irritation.

Glycolic acid features collagen-boosting properties, but is not as high strength as Vitamin C and Retinol. It has, however, been proven to improve collagen production when applied topically to the skin. Research suggests that Glycolic acid triggers a wound-healing response in the skin, which in turn, produces collagen in the repair process.

 4/ Auckland’s best collagen-boosting treatments

Here it is! Our best collagen-boosting treatments that will help you reduce those little fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen Induction Therapy

Skin Needling is one of the most effective ways to naturally boost your skin’s collagen production. By creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, it stimulates the body’s healing response, encouraging fresh collagen and elastin to form. This process helps to firm, smooth, and refine the skin’s texture, reducing fine lines, scarring, and uneven tone over time. The result is plumper, stronger, more radiant skin that continues to improve as new collagen is produced in the weeks following your treatment.

Anti-Ageing Facials

We have results-driven facials designed to restore vitality, firmness, and hydration to mature or tired skin. These advanced treatments combine exfoliating, anti-ageing, and regenerating technologies to increase cell turnover, rejuvenate the skin, reduce inflammation, stimulate collagen production, and leave your complexion lifted, radiant, and refreshed.

Each facial includes a full skin consultation with one of our experienced therapists to ensure your treatment is customised to your skin’s unique needs.

Flexilux Light Therapy

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive, cutting-edge technology that works with the body’s own natural processes to counteract the effects of ageing. It stimulates collagen production along with plumping and hydrating. No downtime required!

Hydrodermabrasion

This advanced treatment gently yet effectively exfoliates the skin's surface, removing dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously infusing potent hydrating serums to replenish and nourish the skin.
