About the MeLine at-home skincare programme

MeLine skincare products need to be applied in the lead up to your first treatment with us and the subsequent weeks following until your second in-clinic treatment. Topical at-home skin care is required to be used continually to achieve optimal results. The goal of home care is to avoid possible harmful effects, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and relapse.

It is also incredibly important to apply sunscreen throughout the day during this programme. Ultraviolet radiation (UVA and UVB) and visible light have a significant effect on melasma.

About the MeLine professional treatment programme

The in-clinic treatments are a combination of actions that boost cell turnover and kick-starts the de-pigmentation.

During the first step, MeLine 00 Prep is applied to the skin to encourage the penetration of the actives contained in the digmentating mask.

Then the digmentating mask (MeLine 01) is applied to your skin to help promote epidermal cell turnover to remove pigmented cells. This process is designed to prevent post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

This mask is to be kept on your skin for approximately four hours (depending on what you have been advised to do by your Equipoise therapist).

Afterwards, you must wash your face immediately and start applying your at-home skin care.

How many MeLine treatments do I need?

The number of treatments you will require can vary depending on the severity of the hyper pigmentation, skin type, phototype (tone), skin tolerance and response. If you have a darker skin tone, your skin is prone to develop hyper-pigmentation than fair skin tones, and so may require an extra treatment or two. You can read about how your skin tone may influence the formation of dark patches in this blog article by Innoaesthetics.
