Microblading is ideal for those looking to improve or create eyebrow definition, cover gaps of lost hair, extend the eyebrows, or maybe used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little/no hair.
This treatment uses a specialised hand-held tool to deposit pigment into the skin in a way that mimics the look of eyebrow hairs, creating a realistic and natural effect.
Treatment is done in 3 sessions; a consult, an initial session, and a final perfecting session. A touch up may be required in 12 - 18 months.
First you’ll have a consultation to establish an outcome, colour, and shape.
During the session your brows will be cleaned, the shape will be mapped out and checked for symmetry until everything is perfect. Your therapist will draw an outline for you to approve before the first two blading ‘passes ‘ will be done. Anesthetic is applied, and the second pass is completed.
Microblading permanence varies from person to person, but it IS a tattoo, & not temporary. Colour will fade slightly over time, so touch up sessions every 12-16 months may be needed.
Healing process:
Day 3-5: “These are way too dark and thick.” Your brows will get darker over this period of time, but they will lighten again.
Day 7-10: During these days your brows may be flaking and scabbing off. Make sure to NOT pick or remove the scabs or you may inadvertently remove some of your pigment!
Day 9-10: “My brows have completely fallen off!!” Your brows may appear like they are completely gone during this time, but don’t worry - they will still be there! This is why its important to have your second perfecting session.
Day 11-28: “My brows are coming back but they are patchy!” Your brows will appear to be patchy and incomplete during this part of the healing process. This is when we do the second perfecting session.
Post treatment/Homecare:
Hour after the treatment: The eyebrows should be rinsed well with lukewarm water, and a thin layer of balm applied
Same day: Repeat every hour (at least 5 times daily) to prevent scabs. Use exclusively the given product or bepanthen
Next 7-10 days until healed: avoid water on the brow area. Apply balm 5 times a day (Oily skin: aftercare is recommended on the first few days only)
First two weeks: avoid swimming, sun tanning, tanning beds, saunas, cosmetic treatments, workout/sweating, and contact with dust.
Always protect your brows from the sun with sunblock, not just when the skin is healing. (The artist is not responsible in case of improper post-treatment care.)
