Your Ultimate Morning Skincare Routine

Here’s our guide to our favourite morning skincare products and how to use them. Rise and shine!

A Clean Slate

Start off the morning by washing your face with lukewarm water and a cleanser for 30 seconds – one minute. Work in gentle circles to remove dirt and oil that can build up overnight while you sleep. We are loving Skin Moderne’s Cleansing Gel Smoothie purifies and leaves skin clean with the power of plant superfood extracts.

Tone Up

Toner sweeps away any leftover dirt and balances the pH of the skin. We are loving DermaQuest’s Hydrating Mist Toner, made to hydrate, soften and calm skin while restoring the skin’s natural pH.

Slip On A Serum

Now your skin is ready for some power-packed products to target any skin concerns you may have. Used regularly, a serum can make huge improvements to your skin health and appearance over time. We suggest Skin Moderne’s Vitamin C Fusion-Brighten & Even Tone which uses a Vitamin C blend to brighten and refresh skin.

Eye Cream

Many people don’t know, but eye cream is often better applied in the morning. We recommend you use a gel-based product to brighten tired eyes, reducing puffiness and dark circles. Start from the inner corners and move up toward the brow bone. We love Ultraceutical’s Ultra C Firming Eye Cream – an age-defying eye cream that visibly improves elasticity, and firmness and smooths the eye area.

Spot Treatment

Morning is a great time to treat pesky blemishes. We suggest you wipe the blemish with a cotton swab to remove previous skincare products, apply the treatment and let it dry, before lightly patting on moisturiser. We recommend DermaQuest’s DermaClear BHA Spot Treatment – a 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment that targets blemish-causing bacteria and reduces breakouts without drying skin out.

Moisturiser

Now you want to get some moisture locked in for the day. We recommend Skin Moderne’s Breakfast Smoothie– a nutrient dense moisturiser with macadamia seed oil and shea butter that nourishes and protects skin while giving a subtle colour and glow.

Face Oil

To add a bit of glow, and some added moisture, you might like to add a facial oil. We suggest DermaQuest’s Advanced Therapy Radiant Skin Facial Oil that provides healing and anti-inflammatory qualities while nourishing skin and restoring suppleness and balance.

Sunscreen

The number one skincare product. We recommend a minimum SPF 30. Be sure to reapply throughout the day for best protection, especially when spending a lot of time outdoors. We are loving Ultraceutical’s Sunactive SPF 50+ Face Cream that conditions and protects
